When everything is in house, daily inspections are possible. End to end manufacturing checklists can be followed. And internal testing at several junctures along the way can be executed.

If parts are produced offsite, that kind of rigor would be impossible. No external company is going to allow a daily inspection of their factory, nor will they appreciate constant scrutiny and testing demands from one of their clients. They likely produce several products for many different kinds of companies, rather than specialize in nitrous oxide safe components.
